A fantastic book! I could not put it down until finished. Each pages speaks deeply into my soul. Very good read. As the title suggest, this book is about how to live a purpose-driven life, a life that counts for eternity. #live to last. The author, Deborah Chan shares her beautiful life story from childhood to motherhood, she shares how God shaped her as a person God wants her to be. Her story is one of God’s amazing work to remind people of His greatness & who we are in Christ. I admired Deb for her boldness to share her emotional ups and downs in the book. This really inspire me! Out of the darkness of her circumstance, she shares testimony of God’s unconditional love & deliverance not just to herself but to her whole family as well. Despite her discouragement, she always finds strength in God’s help. It is very encouraging to know that no matter what life may bring, she knows where to gain strength. She always turn to the One who has the source of strength & learn to rise above the circumstance rather than being left in the pit of despair and discouragement. She cried out to God, waited for God to answer and gave the credit to our Sovereign Creator. Her devotion to God is very encouraging!
The theme of family and friends kept me engaged in the last pages of the book. Such an inspiring story to share! Glory to God;)

The book speaks of living out the passion and purpose we have for life, and how to have that life impact the future. Deborah Chan takes you to her experiences through her life. The stage of finding her identity, serving outside her home country at a young age, finding love, having young ones, serving together as a family wherever God leads them, the joys of their travels as a family, and many others. This helps me re-evaluate the passion and purpose I have for life and how to leave a legacy. The book is an easy read (I admit I finished it just a day! Can’t put it down!). The chapters are not that long, and it has colorful pictures as well. I like the format of it. It also gives me more glimpses of Deb and her family and the life they now live. Hoping for a sequel soon!

When I saw that Deb had written a book, I instinctively knew that it would be something that I would thoroughly enjoy and find some wisdom in. It did not disappoint – the frankness in her writing and joy in sharing comes through in every chapter. This is a book written by someone who has lived and will continue looking for more out of life. Her stories and experiences are ordinarily extraordinary- of finding faith in what we would take for granted, of having faith even when you can’t. The chapters in Cambodia strongly resonated with me and the honesty in recounting the experience that uprooting your life to a rural area is not always a bed of roses and self serving is something I think we ought to read about. At the end of her chapters, I found some faith and strength knowing that if you take a good look at your life and in realising your time here is for a greater purpose – then it’s a life worth living and even when you think it’s not what you had envision it to be. I’d highly Reccomends this book .

Deborah was someone I grew up admiring as she told stories in Sunday Schools that I attended. Beautifully written stories and genuine testimonies of how God worked and continue to work in her life and the people dear and near to her. I was personally touched and teared every time I had a read (just in two sittings). It was real and it tugged the heartstrings of my heart to ask the simple yet difficult (and important) questions in life. Definitely a read for all (:

This book is so enriching and captivating for all ages. I encouraged my children from working adult age to a teenager to read this book. The author speaks deeply about her intimate relationship with God, responsibility as a child of God, daughter, wife and mother in His fullness. Thus having the confidence and clarity to do what she’s doing. Wonderful sharing on her journey that’s so real. Keep it up, Deb.

An easy read with a powerful and inspiring message. This book came to me at a time in my life where I was questioning what was God’s purpose for me on this earth. Deborah’s life choices and experiences serve as a real encouragement. It is amazing to see how much love and dedication Deborah and her family pours out into serving others. It is inspiring to read how, despite in the midst of her own stuggles to start a family, she still manages to help others in need. Deborah encourages us to always put God first in everything that we do. The title of her book, ‘Live to Last’, summarizes her book, life and advices perfectly.
